I was driving in this morning and thinking about Holy Mother Church. I was thinking of how I looked at the Catholic church before answering the call to come home. I was struck at how much work really goes into fighting the church that Christ built.
Like literally fighting the church that God founded on Earth. Anyone who denies the church is setting themselves up just like the pharisees, by thinking that you know better than God. That was the distillation I came to.
Jesus Christ – God’s full and final revelation of himself to man, founded His church on earth, and it is tied to the kingdom of heaven by His divinity.
The church – founded by Jesus Christ (God), sent the Holy Spirit to lead and guide the church. Worship practiced in a whole or universal way.
Peter – literally had his name changed to fulfill God’s will in leading His church.
Even if you don’t like or agree with the Pope, as a catholic, we must obey. It is in God’s will that who is there is in the seat. We may not understand, but we must obey.
In all things of difficulty, we must cry out for grace, mercy, and charity to be able to do the things that God asks of us. This is what we were made for.
