I have become so enthralled with the writings of the early church fathers. How they safeguarded what was given by the Patriarchs, preserved by the Holy Spirit, and made known through Jesus Christ, the Word of God.
It is incredibly refreshing to see the source of the deposit of faith has been so well guarded. It is also so refreshing how straightforward they were. Boldly proclaiming “This is the truth.”
To read their interpretation of scripture, which they received from the apostles, who were trained by Jesus. There is even more interconnectivity in scripture than I realized, and it is beautiful. I cannot wait to read more of the church fathers and doctors’ writings. I genuinely feel closer to Our Lord learning more about the revelations in scripture.
Simply said, our faith is true from the source, and the source keeps it safe. The source is God, Christ Jesus.
